I would like to know if updating to a later bios would disable my processors cpuid on this board ( 2687w C0 QB7R )...also curious if bios updates have dealt with the issue of certain gpus in the last pcie slot causing system instability.

I have an Intel P4208CP4MHGC with S2600CP4 motherboard, Intel Xeon E5-2620V2, and the latest bios/firmware package from Intel 9/20/13.
OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter
BIOS : 02.01.0002

For some reason this server is throwing a whole ton of WHEA Logger Errors from Server Manager in the Events Section of the dashboard. Around 2000 of these warnings are generated at intervals of every 10 minutes.

I've read about this issue on other manufacturers platforms and it seems bios updates generally fix the problem.
I've run Memtest86 overnight, with no errors generated, so I do not believe the issue is in RAM, but I could be wrong.

unable to boot up the board with 2 units of commercial box:-
Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2690V2, 3GHZ, 25MB Cache, LG2011, 130W
Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2640V2, 2GHZ, 20MB Cache, LG2011, 95W
It is working with only single E5-2600v2 processor.
It is working with Dual E5-2650 processor.
This indicate that this not a HW issue, because dual Sandy Bridge processors is working, and single Ivy Bridge processor is working means that the BIOS has detected Ivu Bridge processor.
So the question is why the board would not boot with dual Ivy Bridge processor.

I just bought an intel server board S1200V3RPS with a new Xeon E3-1275v3 for my workstation. The reason is simply, that ECC is not supported for the i7 which is very similiar.
My main problem ist, that in difference to the DH87xx desktop Haswell boards where Intel Visual BIOS allows fan speed control, seems to be not existing for server boards? At least I don't find any related information.
The DVD contains dozens of difficult to install command line programs but no hint for fan control at all. In the BIOS there is only one point for fan setting, which is not understandable, and is not a fan speed control.
I am very disappointed in the whole intel information politics. I did not wanted a server board myself. I did want only ECC, and I trusted intel.
It seems I am a third class citizen (customer) now.
(0. First my vendor wanted to sell me the board with ECC with an i7. Only by occasion we discovered, that this is not supported. Quite hidden and surprising information, that i3 is supported, but i7 not.)
1. When I tried to find information about the boards, I did find only quite useless comparisons between the RPM, RPL and RPS variants of the board. The comparison included only some very minor and bad documented differences. What was not mentioned were such "minor things" like:
The RPS board does not support the Xeon built-in graphics (no DisplayPort connector), only the RPM board has it. Would be good, if that was mentioned in the compare... Now I have the wrong board.
2. The RPS board does have 7 USB ports, but only two are USB 3.0 and it is nowhere documented that the others are not.
After much research, again I found out, that the RPL/RPM variants have two internal USB 3.0 connectors on the board itself which allow to be connected to the case front panel. Mine not. Just the same as 1. I would have liked to know that before buying.
3. As I mentioned. After spent 12 hours or so, no temperature control, no fan speed control out of the box with Intel software.
The motherboard let all fans to howl on full speed without any temperature dependency, even if the processors are cold as ice.
I have not expected the company treats the customers with higher requirements so bad. I cannot describe how frustrated I am.
I found a third party software for the temperature disply (hardwareinfo), but that's all.
And, I know, I am writing to the "Support Community", but only desktop boards are supported here. :-(
Any ideas of gracious people so far, not punishing me for my impertinence?

Issues should be resolved with the Error about the video socket in the console view of Intel RMM, however, I still get this error altough I think and derive that from the system information, that everything is up to date. I read somewhere that with IPMItools I can restart the RMM console thing (without erasing settings) and all is OK then... Can someone help me to do this as a temporary workaround from a Windows client? My server is running ESXi 5...

How about if i was reformatted a new hard drive which has an operating system of windows server 2008 and use the intel server s1200bts that works with ESRT 2 and RST in bios mass storage controller, now to a new server that was reformat when i set bios to mass storage controller and set to RAID and press F10 after rebooting and back to bios but first i disable quiet boot, after all it came back again to AHCI and I cannot create A raid for ESRT 2 on mass controller storage, do i think i erase the driver for RAID when i reformat it to a new O.S? or the driver for RAID ESRT 2 & RST matrix are still there in the firmware? i have don't have an idea whatsgoing on and cannot create RAID...I'm badly needed to configure my RAID for 4 DRIVES for RAID 10 array..since we have large file to run an application and need a RAID to perform large reading and Writiing....
anyone could help me so that i can turn it on to work the ESRT 2 & RST onboard RAID controller on BIOS.

I have an S1200BTL motherboard and an P4303xxsfcnna chassis. I've used Intel Deployment Assistant to update BIOS, BMC, FRU, etc. The chassis fans are still running at full speed. The BIOS only has an option to change to altitude, but the fan speed is set to auto and cannot be configured.
Any reason why the fans would be running full speed on both of my systems?

Sprich es muss der jeweilige PFK gesetzt sein, damit es funktioniert.
Ich möchte aber alle (Snapshot, Encryption, SSD CACHE) zeitgleich nutzen können ?!
Man kann diese auch per Software Key aktivieren. Wo kann ichals diese Software Premium Keys kaufen?

On a couple of these servers, we are seeing very strange behaviour where when connecting via a Brocade 1G/10G switch from a 1G server we are getting line speed RX (113MB/s) but only a fraction of this TX, for example:

We have another server with the same card and that behaves as expected (line speed both TX and RX). As far as I can tell all network configs are the same on both boxes. We've tried different switch, cable, OS and server hardware.
Am I missing something really obvious here?!

We have at our company a SS4200-E, it works fine, but recently there are some strange behavior happening and I need some help, there are 2 issues, but first the details.
Our environment has an AD running under Windows 2012 with stations running w7 and 8.
The SS4200-E already has the latest firmware available and the Intel Entry Storage System is also the latest.
What happens is:
1 - After accessing the device through the Entry Storage (Web interface) I can login normally, but it keeps falling authentication, I mean, after a few seconds that I've logged in I already have to login again no matter what browser or OS i'm using.
2 - I can navigate through all the options available except for the only 1 that I really need the DISKS config page (stg-disks.html) it never opens and then the authentication fails.
I have tried the reset and recovery operations without success, always the same behavior.
Please help we need it to work, also I'm having trouble integrating it with the Active Directory, but the disks issue is far more important.
Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Is there any way to configure Intel JBOD2224S2DP to power on automatically on AC power connection?
Currently after connecting JBOD to AC power I need to press front panel power button to turn it on. This mode is unacceptable. In case of AC power failure all equipment will be shut down and switched off by UPS. When AC power will be restored by UPS all servers and equipment are automatically turning on except this JBOD.
I have few another vendor JBOD’s – LSI. They have hardware power switches on PSU and they are turning on immediately on AC power connection.

Intel S1200V3RPL Motherboard
Intel P4304XXSHCN Enclosure with a 4 bay HotSwap 3.5" module
Adaptec 7805 RAID controller with aHDmSAS to 4xSATA and 1 SGPIO 5pin x2 row socket with 8 wires connected,
The Hotswap module has a backplane which has 4 SATA connectors on it, it also has an SGPIO, I2C_IN and I2C_Out sockets.
The Motherboard has the correct connectors on for the SGPIO cabbles supplied.
The SGPIO socket on the backplane is different from the SGPIO connector on the Adaptec cable
My questions are
I understand that the SGPIO provides status information to the LEDs of the hotswap bay.
1. Does the SGPIO on the backplane need to be connected to the Adaptec 7805 or can it be connected to the S1200 Motherboard?
2. What are the I2C_In and I2C_OUT conectors for
3. There will be no loss in performance if no SGPIO cable is connected (Just no status LED info?)
