Local Control Panel compatability(reuse)

$

I have a SV-AS Intel Local ControlPanel (AXXLCPRACK, version C73060-001). I was curious how to use in other systems. I have found documentation that gives the pinouts of the 50-pin connector, and the 10-pin USB header. But what would I need to hook up to if it is not going in a Dell? Can I get there from here? Or just toss it?

I hope to combine this with a new Asus (server) board. Like the Z10PE-D16. If it helps.

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you

Documentation I found:

LCP Technical Product Specification: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/c96442003_lcp_tps_r1_2.pdf

Firmware: Download Intel® Local Control Panel Firmware Update for DOS and Download Intel® Local Control Panel Screen Menu Update Utility for DOS

Also, though not a huge deal, I cannot seem to find the Intel® Local Control Panel Customization Kit utility (ILCPCK.EXE) or Intel FWPIAUPD.EXE firmware update utility.

S2600CW server board not detecting M.2 SSD

$

Hello All,

I am building a WS using the S2600CW and don't intend to use it as a server.

I have a dual E5-2660 v3 setup with 64 Gig RAM and a Quadro M4000.  I plan to use a Samsung SM951 M.2 SSD as the main hard drive and installing Windows 10.

The M.2 SSD does not show up on the BIOS (Mas Storage Controller Configuration - SATA Port 0-5) and Windows installer (over USB) does not detect it either.

I believe I have the latest BIOS:

SE5C610.86B.01.01.0016

03/31/2016

BMC version: 1.43.9685

ME version: 03.01.03.021

Board part number: H12881-261

I know the M.2 port and SATA4 cannot be used at the same time and I have nothing connected to any of the SATA ports except the M.2 SSD.

Can someone please help me with the settings that would enable me to use M.2 SSD?

Also, there is a very long delay (~50 seconds) before each start up of the system where the fans and LEDs are on but I see no activity on the display.  Why is that?

I really appreciate your help in advance.

Laptop shows only black screen after i press power button, fan on, but still black screen NO mouse cursor

windows 7, asus x42jr, ati mobility radeon hd5470, then upgraded to ati hd5000 radeon (the new one on the amd website), sometimes while i playing games (darksouls 1) the screen suddenly became blue screen and tells me about atikmpag.sys problem. Then i uninstall the driver, only using the standard vga driver, and the blue screen is no more. What i still encounter is this, whenever after i shut down the laptop, when i boot up, the black screen is still occured and i had to press the power button to force-shutdown, sometimes when i am in luck ( this can goes on from 10 minutes to 2 hours), it will show the safe mode option, or it will directly proceed to my usual display. Is this a problem with the driver? or is this a problem with other parts?? Thanks in advance!

Diagnostic LED POST Progress Codes - MRC Codes

S1200V3RPO board in R1304RPOSHBN server won't boot.  Diagnostic LED code is 0x2B.  All documentation seems to lump all codes between 0x19 and 0x31 as MRC Process Codes or MRC Progress Codes but does not show any further detail.  Is 0x2B the last MRC code, meaning it's halting on 0x31, which is labeled as Memory Installed?  Or is there an unlisted 0x2C that would indicate some other error?  Blank screen.  Loud fans.  No interaction other than reading 0x2B LED code every time.

Need an IT mode driver that supports this board for Windows 8.1 x32 and x64.   The LSI driver claims support for it, but sees troubling behavior, and LSI says that Intel's OEM driver should be used.

S2600C0 will not boot after switching back to single E5-2680 from single E5-2609V2.

Works fine with single E5-2609V2.

No screen display. Only error LED is orange one marked "!".

Bios is SE5C600.86B.02.06.0002

Cpu is one E5-2609V2 ===> Works

With one E5-2680 (version 1 Sr0K) ===> endless boot cycle, no display. No error LED's except the rear amber marked with "!" inside a triangle.

Thanks

Steph

Message was edited by: Stephanus van Schalkwyk We've just tested it with an E5-2603 SR0K (version 1 ) an dit boots on that. Is the E5-2680 buggered? This is an OEM SR0K. Any warranty replacement?

Hi!

I bought an used Intel 5520SC and it looks like the network eeprom is corrupt because it shows 10AA as Device ID and no driver is working. Is there any chance to correct this? There is of course no warranty left.

Kind regards, Andreas

Hi,

I would like to mount another GPU (Nvidia GTX 970) and I was wondering to know in advance which GPUs are supported by this server.

I plugged already a Nvidia GTX 970 but no output is shown (neither the boot sequence textual information), is there any setting to be changed?

many thanks,

Daniele

MFS5520 Firmware Update Won't Complete

$

Greetings,

I have a MFS5520 compute module that I am trying to install in a MFSYS25V2 chassis.  The compute module is populated with two Xeon X5650 processors and two DIMMS of Kingston KVR1333D3E9S/8G, one in slot A1 and one in slot D1.  The modular server has been up and running for months and all the other compute modules are model MFS2600KI (including the compute module that the 5520 is replacing).  The other compute modules are running BMC Firmware version 1.0.3616 and BMC Boot version 1.14 but the the new 5520 compute module shows that it has BMC Firmware version 1.27.1 and BMC Boot version 0.28 (BIOS version currently shows 'unknown').  When I put the 5520 into the chassis the modular server "Firmware" page shows that BIOS updates are pending and a reset is required.  I have completed multiple resets of the 5520 (via the link in the firmware page) but after each reset is complete the 'reset required' message still shows and the BIOS version still shows as 'unknown'.  I have tried clearing the CMOS on the 5520 via the jumper on the motherboard but that did not seem to have any effect.

Any ideas?  Can 2600 and 5520 compute modules be mixed in the same chassis?

Thanks for your help.

Would a standard ATX PSU work with a W2600CR2 mobo?

$

Hello all, for the past month I've been trying to get a new workstation build going but nothing seems to work. The LED diagnostics doesn't say much either and I've tried replacing most parts but it just goes to blinking amber and then solid amber with only the LSB lit. No video output whatsoever so I'm working blind here.

I assume the PSU is the problem but Intels support couldn't say much, but can you guys see anything obviously wrong? Here's the speccs:

Intel Workstation Board W2600CR2 (PBA: G59236-301)

Dual E5-2660v2

4x 4Gb Registered ECC PC3-10600

Corsair AX1200 PSU (No PMBus)

As a sidenote, the PDF over the board mentions an internal VGA connection-slot. I did buy the parts separately so does anyone know if you can buy an adapter to normal VGA somewhere? I assume it might have some basic information even if VGA via a PCIe card doesn't show anything. Yes, I'm trying everything I can think of.

Thank you.

Can someone help me diagnose what this error is referring to on my server?  This is a relatively new server:

Can't boot via RMM virtual media

$

I have S2600WT servers with the latest BIOS and a RMM4LITE installed and get grey hairs trying to boot via virtual media, either USB images or ISOs.   I can access the drives from a booted system but BIOS doesn't seem to recognize the devices reliably.  Bizarrely, I did manage to access the devices iff i have a real bootable USB stick on the machines but not without, at least not reliably.   In the java console i also note some  java.nio.BufferOverflowException triggered by classes from com.ami.iusb.protocol packages which seem to be correlated with boots. Makes me wonder whether it is related that my network to the RMM is a bit sluggish.

In any case, anybody else having seen similar problems?  Is there any new version of JViewer which might not inhibit that exception? Or is it maybe a java compatability problem (although i tried with OpenJDK/IceTEA 7 on Linux and Sun JDK8 on Windows and had problems with both).  Any suggestion is welcome! Thanks!

S2600CP no bios splash.

Dear Intel Community,

I've paired an SC2600CP with a Xeon E5-2650. When I boot I get the constant green LED signalling System Status "OK", yet I fail to get a BIOS splash or any video feed.
From the 8 LED codes I gather that I may have a hang at DXE CPU init (yet it moves on from this eventually). I get no beeps apart from an early one that I cannot match on the documentation, and gather to be USB diagnostics passing. When I remove my RAM I can force the 3 beeps, so the speaker's working. I've included a video of the boot sequence.

Hope you can help,
Frederik.
