I have server board 2600CP4 with chassis P4000CP.

Fans working too loud, and I tried update BIOS, BMC, ME, FRU, and SDR. After correct update, nothing changed.

Screenshot_2018-02-03_16-36-03.png

In the BMC I see multiple errors with Intel ME, like:

- 'P1 Therm Margin' sensor has failed and may not be providing a valid reading -Asserted

- Description:'' sensor has failed and may not be providing a valid reading -Asserted

- 'P1 Therm Ctrl %' sensor has failed and may not be providing a valid reading

- 'P2 Therm Ctrl %' sensor has failed and may not be providing a valid reading -Asserted

Also in BMC I can't see those CPU sensors:

It is normal for my board, or not?

Cant disable on board NICs on server motherboard S2600WF

I've got a bunch of S2600WFs and I'd like/need to be able to disable the onboard NICs. There is an option grayed out in the BIOS under Advanced -> PCI Configuration -> NIC Configuration

I was wondering if some other setting will allow me to disable them, or perhaps a jumper setting... I didn't see anything in the manual (S2600WF_TPS.pdf).

Recovery bios s1200v3rps

After updating the BIOS from 02.01.0002 to 03.04.0003 the BIOS is not loaded. In recovery mode, the BIOS starts. Backup BIOS also version 03.04.0003. How to restore the work of the BIOS?

I tried to install the R03.02.0003.cap and the old version from under the recovery mode. Writes to restart to install the update. Next, according to the instructions ( https://www.intel.ru/content/www/ru/ru/support/articles/000005630/boards-and-kits.html  ), I return the jumper back, but there is no result.

S2400SC memtest86 UEFI bit fade errors

I have a S2400SC motherboard. Testing approved RAM, Samsung M393B2G70BH0-YH9 16GB ECC Registered Memory, using the Memtest86 v7.4 UEFI, I get a flood of bit fade errors (Test 10). The Memtest86 forum suggested that it might be a known bug in the Intel BIOS. In another forum posting, I saw a similar problem reported on various Intel MBs in the S2600 series. One individual reported that setting the BIOS to Optimize for UEFI fox it for him, but trying that, I still get a lot of errors.

The cpu is Intel E5-2450L (supports ECC RAM), and only 1 cpu is installed on the MB. I ran the tests using 1 core. I ran it again with 64GB installed (4 x 16GB), and again got a result showing 1024 errors in Test 10 only. The summary report shows

Lowest Error Address: 0x3FFFE018 (1023MB)

Highest Error Address: 0x3FFFF814 (1023 MB)

Bits in Error Mask: 00000000FFFFFFFF

Bits in Error - Total: 32 Min: 0 Max: 32

Max Contiguous Errors: 2

Thanks for any help in sorting this out.

Hi, I'm trying to find out what the tested/approved memory is for the above board.

The links to the approved Memory is no longer on the web page?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

RAID1 on a Intel S3420GPC motherboard

Hello,

I have a Intel S3420GPC motherboard with a RAID1 configuration with 2 hdd.

I few days ago we had an issue with one of the hdd and the RAID1 was forced to go with status offline .

Operating system (centos 5.9-64 bits) works just fine with drive 0, it boots and all of that.

But i want to replace the bad drive.

I turned off the server to replace the bad drive (drive1) and I inserted a new hdd (same hdd as the first one ST1000DM010-2E102 - please see pic2)

Using the CTRL+E   I entered the embedded raid config utility and tryed to restore the raid1.

port 0 ONLIN A00-00

port 1 READY

1. I tryed Check Consistency (please see pic 1)- I waited 1 hour with no progress 0% (please see pic 1)

2. I tryed to Rebuild with

port 0 ONLIN A00-00

port 1 READY

It says only hotspare and failed disk can be rebuild.

Then I went to Objects- Physical Drive - select drive 1 - mark as hotspare,

I go back to Rebuild , I see

port 0 ONLIN A00-00

port 1 HOTSP

I select HOTSP and hit F10 to rebuild - I receive message VD is not in degraded state, can not select drive for rebuilding. (please see pic 3)

What is the procedure to rebuild raid 1 ?

And I still want to have data from drive 0.(I don't want to use configure - new configuration)

Thank you

Adrian

Hi,

I have a server with a RAID controller RS2BL080 which has died.

I purchased a RS3DC080 but now I need a different cable to connect to Controller card.

I have found two that might do the job, but I'm unsure

Cable for RSP3WD080E and RSP3TD160F?

I heard that LSI 9460-16i, which has the same controller, can't use the SFF-8639 to SFF-8643 cable included in intel SSDs to connect to NVMe drives directly. Does intel tri-mode HBA\RAID cards have the same issue? If so, which cable should I get? I only need 2-4 drives per card, so 1 drive per socket is good enough.

Thanks.

Configuring bootable VROC mirror on S2600WFT mainboard with P3520 NVME drives through OCULINK connectors

Hi. I have an Intel Server System configured as follows:

(1) R2312WFTZS - Intel® Server System R2312WFTZS

(2) CD8067303561500 - Intel® Xeon® Silver 4108 Processor (11M Cache, 1.80 GHz)

(2) AXX1300TCRPS - AXX1300TCRPS - 1300W AC Power Supply

(8) KSM26RS8/8HAI - KINGSTON 8GB 2666MHZ DDR4 ECC REG CL19 DIMM 1RX8 HYNIX A IDT

(1) VROCSTANMOD - Raid On CPU standard Module

(1) AXXCBL600CVCR - 600 mm long, accessory cable kit (1 cable included), straight OCuLink SFF-8611 connector to right angle OCuLink SFF-8611 connector

(1) AXXCBL620CRCR - 620 mm long, spare cable kit (1 cable included), right angle OCuLink SFF-8611 connector to right angle OCuLink SFF-8611 connector

(2) SSDPE2MX450G701 - P3520 (450GB, 2.5IN PCIE 3.0 X4, 3D1)

(1) RMS3AC160- Intel Integrated RAID Module RMS3AC160

(1) AXXRMFBU6 - Intel MFBU6 RAID Super Capacitor Module BACKUP FOR RMS3AC160

(4) SSDSC2BB016T701 - DC S3520 Series 1.6TB 2.5inch SATA 6Gb/s 3D1 MLC Brown Box

When I attempt to configure the VROC RAID in the BIOS there are no options to configure. I am able to configure the RMS3AC160. Everything I have been reading says in order to enable the Raid in the CPU (VROC) I need the VROC Key which I have installed, but there seems to be no way to address the NVME u.2 drives to configure. Where am I suppose to go to configure the RAID so I can boot up on it? I have read the Configuration document(https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27135/eng/RSTe%20VROC%20Users%20Manual_1.0.pdf) referenced in another thread(Intel S2600WF (Wolf Pass) can't see NVMe Drives and VROC is not detected ). I configure the Intel VMD and then restart and try to find the "Intel VROC HII interface" in the Bios and cannot find it. I have installed the newest BIOS (S2600WF_EFI_BIOSR0009_ME04.00.04.288.0_BMC1.29.7d703f59_FRUSDR1.29). I have tried in uefi and in legacy boot. Help, all I want is a mirrored nvme boot drive to install Windows Server 2016 on. With a 4 drive RAID 6 SATA disk to hold our data and hyper-v vm's and vhdx's.

Also, I have not been able to get a windows installation to boot up on this system.

Thanks,

Where can I get SEL VIEWER for DOS (version 1.54)?

Hello.

I need a Sel Viewer utility for motherboard Intel Sapello S5000VSA.

As written here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007037/server-products.html?_ga=2.7349810.1028754077.1518784…  I need version 1.54 for DOS:

For all S5000 series and S3200SH boards, use the SELVIEWER version 1.54 for DOS or the SELVIEWER version 2.01 for Windows or Linux.

SEL VIEWER for DOS (version 1.54)

You can also run the SEL Viewer utility in DOS on the Intel® Server Boards S5000 series:

  1. Download the SEL Viewer for DOS from Download Center.
  2. .....

But the download link does not contain DOS-version.

Thank you.

Fan control on S1200BTL using linux (opensuse)

Hi, I have a xeon server board with 32GB ECC memory as workstation… and I'm annoyed about the loud fan…

# ipmitool sensor | grep -I Fan
Sys Fan 2        | 686.000    | RPM        | ok    | na        | 294.000   | 392.000   | na        | na        | na
Processor Fan    | 0.000      | RPM        | cr    | na        | 0.000     | 0.000     | na        | na        | na
System Fan 4     | 1078.000   | RPM        | ok    | na        | 294.000   | 392.000   | na        | na        | na
Sys Fan 1        | 0.000      | RPM        | cr    | na        | 0.000     | 0.000     | na        | na        | na
Sys Fan 3        | 588.000    | RPM        | ok    | na        | 294.000   | 392.000   | na        | na        | na

I already disconnect "Processor Fan" but I don't want to disable "System Fan 4"

I have done some study and I think I can control Fan speed with the "ipmitool raw…" command… like I read

FAQ Entry | Online Support | Support - Super Micro Computer, Inc.

Question can you give me the IPMI raw commands to control all the fan's on S1200BTL

thank you :-)

Intel® 82801IR I/O Controller Supported RST Version with Windows Server 2016

Hi,

I made the mistake in installing most recent RST on an older Intel S3200SHV Server board with Intel® 82801IR I/O Controller, evidently all hell broke loose as i got spinning dots at reboot. In order to address the issue I set the controller to IDE after unplugging one of the drives. I did some research and apparently version 10.8.0.1003 is the latest one that would work with this legacy controller, can anyone please confirm this and if so, how can i go back to my RAID setup if the server no longer boots when set to RAID (Latest RST has already been uninstalled).

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated

MFSYS25V2 All power supplies show as Unknown Device

$

Hello

Our MFSYS25V2 is reporting that all four of the power supplies are "Unknown Devices" and the chassis is refusing to power up any of the servers with the error message "There is insufficient power available to power all the servers in the chassis. If all power supplies are powered and functioning properly, add additional power supplies.". Here are the steps that we have taken so far:

  1. Powered all servers off, disconnected power from all four power supplies, waited 30 seconds, reconnected power and rebooted chassis
  2. Removed power, unseated and re-seated all four of the power supplies in sequence
  3. Reset and rebooted the CMM
  4. Unseated and re-seated the following, each in sequence:
    1. Front fan module
    2. All servers
    3. Both storage control modules
    4. Both SWM
  5. Replaced one of the power supplies with a known good spare

Three of the servers were powered on and accessible when I discovered this issue, so the power supplies are clearly functioning correctly, at least to a certain extent. It would be nice to get this chassis working again but if that is not possible, I'd really like to be able to at least temporarily force the servers to power on so that I can export the virtual machines that are running on them.

Does anyone have any ideas?

How to clear UEFI secure boot keys (or enter Setup Mode) on S1200SPO

$

0

I have a S1200SPO with a Xeon E3-1270v6 with versions:

IFWI: S1200SP.86B.BR.64.2017.39.3.01.0729.selfboot

BIOS: S1200SP.86B.03.01.0026.092720170729

I'd like to clear the installed UEFI secure boot keys, which requires entering Setup Mode. I can't seem to enter Setup Mode. Under Boot Maintenance Manager, under secure boot, all I can do is enable or disable secure boot. I'm using the KeyTool.efi (part of efitools) and I can verify that the board is in User Mode, which doesn't allow me to clear the PK.

Is there a way to do this from the BIOS? (maybe a different BIOS version?)

Can I do this somehow by modifying SPI flash directly? I have access to the board and tools to read/write SPI flash.

Thanks,

Josh
