Very sporadically, possibly a month between instances, the built in dual port ixgbe on a supermicro board stops allowing connectivity and just logs a spoofed packet message to /var/log/messages such as
Feb 16 08:02:58 ahsat1 kernel: ixgbe 0000:c2:00.1: eth1: -1 Spoofed packets detected
this repeats every 2 seconds while the interface is down. All we can do is reboot the server and all is well until this happens again. No known relation to traffic levels. I also don't understand how a count of packets can be negative.
CentOS 6.3, kernel 2.6.32-279.2.1.el6_x86_64,
ixgbe driver version: 3.6.7-k,
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
